Energy Advisor to the Prime Minister of North Macedonia will attend RES Serbia 2021 conference

Viktor Andonov, Energy Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Government of Republic of North Macedonia, will take part in the RES Serbia 2021 conference, that is scheduled for September 15th, 2021, at Belgrade`s Metropol Palace Hotel. Together with the remainder of the panelists, he will discuss energy transition in Serbia as well as in the region, and also the new regulations and capacities that lead to the carbon neutrality.

Viktor Andonov is Energy Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Government of Republic of North Macedonia. Mr. Andonov has more than 15 years of experience in the energy sector in North Macedonia, from which 10 years in the energy department in Ministry of Economy, on various issues such as investment in energy projects in the country, strategic energy planning, energy statistics and energy balances. During the work in the Ministry of Economy he actively participated on various working groups in Energy Community Secretariat in Vienna, especialy in security of supply working group and in energy statistics working group as national coordinator for energy statistics.

He was Special Advisor for Energy to two former Deputy Prime Ministers in charge of economic affairs D-r Kocho Angjushev and Mila Carovska in the period 2018 – 2020. During this period he was directly involved in the first two transparent procedures for granting premium tariffs for construction of PV plants in the country and the procedure for construction of PV plants which will replace the coal thermal power plant Oslomej. He was project coordinator of the process for preparation of the first Strategy for Energy Development in the region that is based on the five pillars of EU Energy Union.

Viktor Andonov was one of the few people that worked on MARKAL model for strategic energy planning as a part of the Core Group for Strategic Planning led by Academician Gligor Kanevce from Macedonian Academy for Science and Arts, during implementation of the project for Regional Energy Demand Planning financed by USAID.

Viktor Andonov has MSc and BSc in Energy on Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Skopje.
